To advance in the adventure, you must cross Route 506 to reach Flamerny Woods.

Route 506 has a few trainers and you can obtain the following items:

  • Ultra Ball
  • TM23 - Reflect
  • Fire Stone
  • Burn Heal
  • Charcoal
  • Super Potion

In Flamerny Woods you can catch many Fire-type Pokémon and it serves as a connector to Flamerny City. Just before exiting the forest, Pearl will challenge you to a battle.

Upon defeating him, you must cross a short section of Route 6 and you will reach the city. Right upon arrival you will run into Prof. Ellie and she will inform you that the Leader is at Mt. Vulcan and will challenge you to a duel:

  • Manectric (Level 55)
  • Houndoom (Level 60)
  • Altaria (Level 65)

Before going to look for the Leader, there are several things to do:

  • A boy next to the Pokémon Center gives you a Magby.
  • In one of the houses, a trainer will trade her Lampent for a Zebstrika.
  • In the house next to the Pokémon shop you can get Victini. It has a very low catch rate, so bring several Ultra Balls.

Mt. Vulcan is divided into an external and internal part. You have to cross the external part defeating a few trainers to reach the heart of the volcano (internal part). The items you can obtain are:

  • Ultra Ball
  • Full Heal
  • Revive

  • TM38 - Fire Blast

Cross the internal part defeating some trainers until you find the Leader and hand over the Super Repel. Once he chases away the Aarons, he will head to the Gym.
