Pokémon Light Platinum Walkthrough
Groment City, Groment Mines and Fifth Gym
In this city, as is evident, there is a lot of sand. Here you will be able to revive fossils and a man will trade you an Onix with its evolutionary item for a Torkoal.
When you try to enter the Gym, a man will inform you that the Leader is working in the mines, but he will give you a ticket for the museum, which will be your next destination.
Once inside the museum, you will have three battles with Team Steam Grunts, followed by battles with Sheila and Shirley, two of the Team Steam Admins. After these battles, another member, who seems to be important in the organization, will steal the white and black orbs and leave the museum. Your next destination will be the Groment Mines.

In order to advance to the second floor of the cave, you will need to teach Magma Surf to one of your Pokémon. If you don't have any Pokémon that can learn it, you can catch a wild Torkoal in the cave, which will help you continue the adventure.
On the second floor we will meet Zero, a mysterious Trainer who will tell us his ideology and after this he will give us a Deino. Then he just leaves.
At the end of the first floor of the mines, you will find the Gym Leader, Atlas. Talk to him and he will head to the Gym so you can challenge him.
Groment City Gym
This Ground-type Gym has a very easy puzzle system; you just have to avoid the sand tiles so you don't fall down and have to battle more Trainers.

Reward: 800 $ + Mineral Badge
Once you win the battle, Atlas will give you the fifth Zhery Badge and TM26 - Earthquake. You will also be able to use Surf outside of battle, which you will get at Mt. Zhery, your next destination to continue with the adventure.
