Enermy Town, Mt. Shuem and Route 411
In this town, you will find valuable items to continue your adventure, such as Magma Surf. A boy at Marfeny Lake, west of the town, will give it to you and it will be vital to move forward.
- An Ace Trainer in a house gives you a Riolu.
- A Black Belt will give you HM04 - Strength.
- TM11 - Sunny Day, near Marfeny Lake.
- A boy at Marfeny Lake will give you HM05 - Magma Surf.
After collecting all the items, you should head to the cave on the far right of the town. Before entering, you will have a battle against Gold. His team is as follows:

In order to advance to the second floor of the cave, you will need to teach Magma Surf to one of your Pokémon. If you don't have any Pokémon that can learn it, you can catch a wild Torkoal in the cave, which will help you continue the adventure.

Further ahead, after defeating some Trainers, you will meet Professor Jasmine. She will be next to a tombstone similar to the one you translated at the beginning of the game.
Jasmine will tell you that perhaps this tombstone will help us understand why the Legendary Pokémon are fighting. Jasmine will wait for you in Yellow Town, but for now, continue a little further until you reach Groment City.
